MAK Announces 6th Annual MSC 2021
Annual Midwives Scientific Conference 2021 now open for registration
The Midwives Association of Kenya (MAK) is pleased to announce the 6th Annual Midwives Scientific Conference 2021. The event will be hosted by MAK’s Western Kenya team, led by Kakamega Branch. It will be held at the Golf Hotel, Kakamega, from 7th to 9th December 2021.
The Annual MSC brings together midwives from all over Kenya into intense professional discussions on the now and future of midwifery in Kenya. Perspectives, learnings, innovations, challenges and solutions are presented and discussed, with abstracts and presentations being presented.
MAK Members representing the various branches in Kenya get the opportunity to not only interact professionally, but to also have a good time with colleagues. The event facilitates both professional development and peer networking.
Several MAK Partners have been invited to engage with midwives. Presentations and talks by the Partners will inform the midwives on new sector developments, maternal and newborn care trends and technological advancements.
As is typical of the AMSC schedule, MAK will as partof the event host a grand dinner for Midwives and MAK Partners.
Conference value-for-money
This year’s AMSC will discuss topical issues affecting midwifery, maternal and newborn health, as well as sectoral matters. Key themes include:
Quality midwifery-led care in the context of Covid-19 era and beyond;
Quality training for midwives;
Midwifery-led improvement in sexual, reproductive, maternal, neonatal and adolescent health (SRMNAH) service delivery; and,
Midwifery leadership and governance.
Invitation of ABSTRACTS – deadline 15 November 2021
MAK invites abstracts from midwives for presentation and discussion during the conference. The submission deadline is 15th November 2021. To submit an abstract, write to: scientific@kenyamidwivesconference.corg
